It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the National Health Service (NHS), NHS England, NHS Employers, HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), the NHS Pension Scheme or any UK government body or department. References to the NHS are descriptive only.

2. Accuracy of Estimates

All salary and take-home pay figures are estimates only. They are based on publicly available information, including NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) pay scales, HMRC Income Tax and National Insurance thresholds, student loan thresholds and NHS Pension Scheme contribution tiers for the 2026/27 financial year.

Your actual pay may differ because of, for example:

• your individual tax code issued by HMRC, including emergency tax codes;
• trust-specific payroll arrangements, local agreements or pay-point placement;
• unsocial hours, overtime, on-call and bank shift patterns that vary from the assumptions used;
• pension arrangements, opt-outs, salary sacrifice schemes or additional contributions;
• arrears, overpayments, back pay or other adjustments;
• Scottish, Welsh or Northern Irish rules that differ from England;
• changes to rates or thresholds announced after publication.

Pay scales, tax thresholds and pension rates are updated when official figures are published, usually once a year. Older pay scale pages (for example 2024/25 and 2025/26) are kept as archive references only. Where figures from official sources differ from this website, the official source applies.
